- Seller information: if you create a listing, we also collect address, city, state, zip code, and information about your pilot/aircraft ownership status.
- Listing content: descriptions, specifications, photos, and (for Premium listings) video you upload.
- Contact form submissions: name, email, phone number, and message content when you use our Contact page.
- Payment information: if you purchase a listing, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number.
- Usage data: pages viewed, listings viewed, and general interaction data (such as how many times a listing was viewed or clicked) used to provide sellers with performance statistics. This is tied to an anonymous identifier stored in your browser, not your real-world identity, unless you are logged in.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Site and your account
- Display your listings and seller contact information to prospective buyers
- Send you notifications related to your account or listings (such as a contact form submission or listing status change)

3. How We Share Your Information
With other users: information you choose to display on a listing (such as your name or business name, phone number, and email, unless you choose to hide certain fields) is visible to anyone browsing the Site. We are not responsible for how other users use information you make public on a listing.
With service providers: we use third-party services to operate the Site, including database and hosting infrastructure, email delivery (for notifications), and payment processing. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.
We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Piston Marketplace or its users.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account and listing information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your login is deactivated and your personal information (name, phone, address, etc.) is removed or anonymized. Listing and transaction records may be retained after account deletion for our business, accounting, and legal record-keeping purposes.
5. Your Choices
You may update your account information at any time through your account settings. You may request deletion of your account through your account settings, subject to the retention described above. You may opt out of promotional emails at any time; you may still receive transactional emails related to your account or listings.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage to maintain your login session and to assign an anonymous identifier used for basic listing analytics (such as counting unique views). We do not use third-party advertising trackers or sell data to ad networks.
7. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under the age of 18.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including access controls that restrict who can view your personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
